Parents : Gods Among US

-JAYANT MUNDHRA

When a child is born, he/she has already given his/her parents the greatest gift, the joy of being a parent. From the moment you are born, your parents only dream about your future, your well being and betterment.

So, if you have grown into a responsible adult who cares for his parents and his nation, then you have already gifted them enough by fulfilling their very basic dream of seeing you standing on your own in this world. All your parents want is to see that their parenting and nurturing over the years have created an asset for the world.

For instance,

My dad used to throw wrappers from the moving car. And, whenever he did so, I used to get very irritated and angry. And I used to lecture him on “Our responsibility towards the Nation”. My dad never retaliated citing, “How dare I try to teach him something? He is over double my age and yet I am lecturing him. Bansal Ji’s kids never do such things. They aren’t so blunt. They are always quiet in front of their parents.”

Rather, he would silently smile. He found happiness and peace in my lecturing. Reason being that his parenting has created a caring and responsible citizen for the nation.

Some of my friends have a grudge against their parents that their parent scold they a lot… Well, here is my view…

When your parents scold you, its because they care about you. They don’t want you to commit the mistakes that they created or they have seen the people create in their liv es. That’s why they might sometimes be harsh. But, this harshness doesn’t just makes you cry. Ask your parents, don’t they cry in their hearts when they have to scold you. But, its only because they don’t you to step onto wrong paths or deeds.

Yet, inspite of what parents do for their children, people today leave their parents, estrange them. Your parents are the greatest gift that you can even imagine.

Care for them.
Respect them.
Love them.
